Tehran opens 32nd Int’l Book Fair

The 32nd Tehran International Book Fair (TIBF) has been opened in the presence of the Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Seyyed-Abbas Salehi.

Thirty countries are participating at the fair which was opened on Tuesday.

China is invited to the fair as the guest of honor and 150 representatives of the country are participating at the TIBF.

Some 2400 domestic and 800 foreign publishers are taking part at the 2019 TIBF.

The TIBF is being annually held in Tehran early in May. The cultural event has turned into a landmark book fair in the Middle East and Asia after over 30 editions in a row.

Millions of visitors inspect the fair every year, including thousands of university students, scholars and their families. The event currently serves as the most notable cultural event in Iran.

The fair is open to public from April 24 and will wrap up on May 4.
